Why do
we need to work on our position? A good seat is the basis for all riding since the
communication between rider and horse is predominately embodied and depending
of the quality of the rider’s seat. Moreover, the rider’s seat is also a
determination factor for the welfare and health of our horse. The rider uses
his or her senses and body language to communicate with the horse, and to
interact with the horse requires athletic skills like balance, strength,
suppleness, body awareness and body control. We, as riders, need a well
balanced and supple seat to be able to adapt to the pace and movements of the
horse, and to create a common movement together with our horse without
disturbing him or her.
We will share our startup journey with you. We are developing Rider's Position Coach. It is
a virtual coach that will will give you as rider, real time feedback on your
position in the saddle. The
solution will consist of an app and a sensor belt with built-in motion sensors. The
information is transferred in real time to the Riders position app for
analysis.The
app interprets the sensor band's signals, gives the rider feedback, statistics
and personal advice in real time. We
also provide feedback with an individual dynamic training plan. In addition,
the rider receives a written feedback in the app how you performed during the
training session.
Enjoy the ride with us!

Milestones
We have had a busy summer with a lot of activities to get Rider's position going.
We started the company in July and it is called Rider's Position Sweden AB.
The homepage ridersposition.com was up and running in June and we got almost 500 followers on Facebook in one week.
We went to our first event, Linköpings Horse Show where we met a lot of riders asked them what they thought about Rider's Position Coach. The interest was massive and almost all of them thought it was a great idea and that they were curious to know more.
We have made a survey where we asked about the riders position in the saddle. If you havn´t done the survey please do. Almost 100 riders have already answered. In the next newsletter we will share the study with you.
In August Almi gave us our first funding. It will help us to start prototyping Rider's Position Coach. We are so happy and grateful!
Pitching at Strömsholm
September 3rd we had our first live pitch at Strömsholm In the audience was our fellow members of the EU project: Business development, innovation and internationalisation of horse related businesses. Thomas Orrung and Thomas Karlsson business coaches from Almi and Sörmlandsfonden gave us great feedback.
We believe in science based development
We have shared different scientific studies that prove the importance of a good seat. Here the studies we have published:
Did you know that many riders put more force onto the horse’s shoulders during collection?
Does horse’s and rider’s asymmetries effect each other?
Did you know that a steady lower leg essential for riders in show jumping?
Did you know that many riders are asymmetric?
What are the most frequent seat deviations among riders?
Did you know that physical training can improve the rider’s position?
That was all from us!
Enjoy your ride and focus on your position in the saddle. We will come back to you in about a month with more inspiration.
